The protection of Saurus cranes in Myanmar is an urgent priority. The project outlined here, if successful, will bring international attention and support to the Ayeyarwady region. The project would position Myanmar as a conservation leader in Southeast Asia while assisting the country in complying with UN Sustainable Development Goals and UN Convention on Biodiversity – Achi Targets. The project will support wildlife-friendly farming practices and outreach to farmers, schools, and community members with the goal of reducing poverty and increasing biodiversity.

Mekong Organics involved in reviewing existing knowledge about floating rice development, undertake feasibility analysis for conserving floating rice in Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar.

The project is in progress!
