Training in Organic vegetable farming and trade in the Mekong Delta

from 12 to 14 September 2025
Within the framework of cooperation between Newcastle University (UK) and the Climate Change Institute of An Giang University – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, the project team, in collaboration with Mekong Organics, is organising a series of courses on sustainable organic farming.
Third Course: Practical Training on Organic Vegetable Production and Trade
Time and Venue: The training will take place over three days, from 12/09/2025 to 14/09/2025, as follows:
- 12/09/2025 (Friday): Workshop at the Climate Change Institute – An Giang University + Visit to Ech Op Farm (Long Xuyen), An Giang
- 13/09/2025 (Saturday) Field visits to the PGS Organic Vegetable Model in Dong Thap Community College
- 13-14/09/2025 (Saturday and Sunday): Visit Viet Ha Organic Vegetable Farm, NASAA Certified Organic (Binh Phuoc province, now: Dong Nai province).

Eligibility:
- Farmers or members of agricultural cooperatives wishing to produce organic vegetables themselves
- Technical staff in organic vegetable cultivation, processing, and trade
- Agricultural extension officers in the Mekong Delta are working in ecological agriculture, organic agriculture, and circular agriculture
Each organisation nominates one representative to attend. The course is delivered in person, with a maximum of 20 participants per class.

- Mr. Alan Broughton, President of the Organic Agriculture Association (OAA) in Bairnsdale, Victoria, Australia, is a principal organic agriculture educator at Mekong Organics
- Mr. Truong Thanh Dat, Director of Ech Op Farm (Long Xuyen), An Giang
- Ms. Ha Bich Quyen, Director of Viet Ha Organic Agriculture Co., Ltd. (Binh Phuoc)
- Mrs Huynh Ngoc Duc, An Giang University
We selected 20 participants across the Mekong Delta to participate in this training
Note: Selected participants will be supported by the Organising Committee for travel expenses within the Mekong Delta, overnight accommodation in Long Xuyen, lunch, and drinking water during the course, in accordance with the current expenditure norms of the Climate Change Institute – An Giang University.
