Rice English group update.
It is now approximately one year since mentoring this group in English started. Students have progressed in a number of ways.
Beyond good progress with speaking and pronunciation in English, confidence and social interaction skills have also improved. This has been achieved by also using general conversation and written essays, which students would then read out, describing the day-to-day elements of their lives, such as their families, friends, likes, and hobbies.
The students have been confident in asking about Australian culture as well. The relaxed nature of sessions including humour has helped the students increase their learning and social skills, not only with me, but also between themselves.
It has been a pleasure to mentor such polite, respectful, and motivated students.
