The Mekong Organics Chef program, a unique initiative connecting kitchens with farmers under the theme “Keeping it Clean from Field to Table”, took place today at the Tan Dat Organic Rice Cooperative in Trung Ngai commune, Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province.

The program featured the participation of Chef Thach Thien, who volunteered his time and passion for sustainable food. Rising before dawn in Ho Chi Minh City, he travelled by bus to Tan Dat Organic Rice Village in the heart of the Mekong Delta, driven by a simple yet powerful mission: to bring the inspiring story of organic rice farmers to dining tables around the world.

More than 20 trainees from the Organic Rice Cultivation and Trade Training Program—jointly organised by the Climate Change Institute, An Giang University and Mekong Organics—joined the event. Participants included representatives from enterprises, cooperatives, and farming communities across the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City. They were joined by 20 members of the Tan Dat Cooperative and the Mekong Organics Chef team, creating a vibrant exchange between chefs, farmers, and food advocates.

This event was made possible through the leadership of Mekong Organics, with generous sponsorship from the Rotary Club of Hall (Canberra, Australia) and Dr. Daniel Gifilian of Adelaide, Australia. Together, they are working to strengthen the link between sustainable agriculture and healthy, global dining experiences.
