Monthly visit to organic fertilizer facility was held by Canberra Organic Growers Society
On 22 July March, Canberra Organics Grower Society held a visit to Landtasia Organic Farms’ Composting Facility between Bungendore and Braidwood in NSW, Australia. I had an opportunity to learn about the process of making compost from local resources such as green manure and duck manure to supply for organic gardeners in the region of NSW and ACT. This small homebased facility supplies compost directly to growers, so costs are cheaper. The young lady is the owner of this property. She is knowledgeable about the biological processes of soil, and the process of making compost. As organic agriculture is developing in Australia, the demand for organic fertilizer is very high. This small scale compost making provides cheapest price for the growers.
